Description

Two matching tokkuri make up this set of Kutani porcelain, whose fine, artfully designed surface stands out clearly from the more earthy stoneware traditions of other regions. Kutani ware is distinguished by its porcelain base and its traditionally bold, often colorful painting, even though this set presents itself in a more restrained design.

Since the 17th century, Kutani has been regarded as one of Japan's most important porcelain traditions, whose products are highly valued both domestically and internationally. Owning two bottles in the set follows the Japanese preference for pairs in table culture. This set is delivered in a wooden box signed by the master potter. Both tokkuri are handcrafted unique works and are ideally suited for warming and serving sake.
