Description

This set made of Mino ware brings together a whole ensemble for sake culture: five small guinomi cups and two matching tokkuri flasks, each with its own iridescent glaze and slightly individual shape. This variety within a cohesive set is what makes the special appeal of Mino pottery.

The Mino region is one of Japan's most important ceramics centers and is the place of origin of such famous glaze traditions as Shino, Oribe, and Ki-Seto. Sets like this one reflect the long tradition of convivial sake drinking, in which different vessels are used together. This set is delivered in a wooden box signed by the master potter. As a handcrafted ensemble, it is ideal for convivial sake gatherings and, at the same time, an evocative collector's piece of Japanese ceramic art.
