Description

Two Tokkuri that resemble one another yet differ in nuance form this harmonious set made of Seto ware. Their shimmering glaze moves between light brown and warm beige tones and displays the versatility in color and texture typical of Seto, which has distinguished this pottery region for centuries.

As one of the six ancient pottery towns of Japan, Seto looks back on a history of more than a thousand years, during which countless glaze techniques were developed and refined. Serving or collecting two bottles together also underscores the Japanese appreciation for pairs and symmetry in table culture. This set comes from Yano Totozo and is delivered in a wooden box signed by the pottery master. Both Tokkuri are handcrafted unique works and are ideally suited for warming and serving sake.
