Description

With vivid colors and impressive dynamism, this artwork from the Meiji period captures a crow sitting curiously on a persimmon branch. The vibrant red fruits set a lively accent within the otherwise gentle, harmonious composition and stand out impressively against the dark shadow of the crow and the subtle shading of the leaves. This careful balance between light and darkness, movement and stillness, gives the image a particular expressive power.

The work, painted on silk, bears the seal of the artist Ito Yanagiso. A jikusaki made of bone completes the traditional appearance and underscores the special value of this piece. Through the combination of natural motifs and the detailed depiction of the crow, the artwork becomes a timeless expression of Japanese aesthetics and symbolic depth.

Such a kakemono is an exceptional piece for collectors and lovers of Japanese art, one that enriches any room with its lively yet tranquil presence.
