Description

This impressive kakemono from the Showa period depicts a graceful woman in a vivid red kimono, standing beneath delicate cherry blossoms. The detailed depiction of the traditional garment and the fine handiwork on silk attest to the great craftsmanship of the artist Goro Kamenaga, whose seal adorns the work.

The painting captures the beauty of the Japanese cherry blossom, regarded as a symbol of impermanence and renewal. The elegant posture of the woman and the blossoms in her hand convey a sense of calm and contemplation.

The artwork is painted on silk, with the jikusaki made of wood, which underscores the traditional style of the piece. Please note that the mounting shows slight damage in the upper area, which, however, does not diminish the charm and authenticity of this historical artwork.

This kakemono is a true unique work and a valuable collector's item for lovers of classical Japanese painting and culture.
