Description

Above the snow-covered peak of Mount Fuji, a golden dragon traces its path through dark bands of clouds – a powerful combination of two central auspicious symbols of Japanese art, uniting permanence and cosmic force.

The clouds are rendered in dense, velvety sumi gray, while the dragon emerges in fine gold lines, lending the image an almost shimmering depth. The painting bears the signature and seal of Kashu Iguchi, visible in the lower part of the image.

Including a specially signed wooden box, this hanging scroll becomes a special collector's piece that unites the veneration of Mount Fuji as a sacred mountain with the dynamic symbolic power of the dragon – an impressive motif for any lover of the art of the hanging scroll.
