Two narrow waterfalls plunge over moss-covered rock steps, gathering into a jade-green shimmering stream that draws the eye from top to bottom through the entire image. Halfway up, several thatched-roof houses stand behind a simple fence, above which a gently rounded mountain fades into the haze.

Remarkable is the restraint of color: the landscape is laid out almost entirely in ink tones, only the water carries a cool tinge of green that makes the flowing movement visible and calms the scene.
