Description

This impressive kakemono captures the grace of a swallow in flight while a waterfall gently plunges into the depths in the background. The artist's masterful painting subtly combines movement and stillness – the bird glides through the air with wings spread wide, while the falling water forms a calm, meditative backdrop.

The contrast between the finely detailed foliage of the maple tree in the upper section and the flowing, almost abstract lines of the waterfall gives the work a distinctive balance. Through the use of fine silk as painting ground, the scene unfolds with a subtle transparency that underscores the natural elegance of Japanese art.

Created in the Showa period, this unique work has jikusaki made of bone and was crafted using traditional techniques. It is not only an impressive collector's item, but also a wonderful addition to any room meant to create a calm yet dynamic atmosphere.
