Description
A kakemono with a calligraphy by Daitoku-ji Shinjuan priest Nishigaki Soko, who lived between 1908 and 1985 and was head priest at the Goraku-ji temple in Kinosaki. Written on paper with a silk brocade mounting. The kakejiku shows a few age-related spots and discolorations. Both jikusaki made of lacquered wood are present and intact. The calligraphy reads in Romaji as "Shougatsu Youmeiki". It is a poem by the poet Tôsen. This kakemono comes in a wooden box (tomobako) signed by the artist.
