Description

A kakemono with a calligraphy by Fujii Kaidō (1898–1984), the 515th abbot of Daitoku-ji in Kyōto and abbot of the sub-temple Sangen-in. Written on paper with a mounting of paper and silk brocade. Both jikusaki made of lacquered wood are intact. The kakejiku shows some age-related signs of wear in the form of stains and creases. Unfortunately, the calligraphy is written in a very cursive style and therefore not legible to us. This kakemono comes in a wooden box signed by the artist (tomobako).
