Guinomi Guinomi Made of Hagi Ware by Ken Sasaki

Delicately cream-colored and covered with the fine crackle typical of Hagi ware, this guinomi reveals its rich, traditional origins in quiet composure. Over time, the porous glaze will take on subtle changes in color through contact with sake – an aging process valued by connoisseurs that allows each piece to mature individually.

Hagi ware has ranked among Japan's most significant ceramic traditions since the Momoyama period and is especially prized by tea masters for its restrained, warm character. The slightly irregular shape underscores the handcrafted, undogmatic nature of this pottery. This guinomi comes from Sasaki Ken and is delivered in a wooden box signed by the master potter. A handcrafted unique work that gains further character with every use.
