Description

A single raftsman stands on a long wooden raft, quietly poling through the water of a river that winds through a vast, mist-shrouded landscape. In the background, wooded mountains rise, partially disappearing into dense clouds and haze, while lush white and pink blossoming trees line the riverbank, lending the scene a fresh, vivid note. The composition conveys a sense of expanse, stillness, and harmonious unity between man and nature.

The work bears the signature and seal of Haneda Getsushu. Painted on silk, it unfolds a fine, nuanced palette with gentle gray and blue tones for the river and mountains, as well as delicate white and pink tones for the blossoms. The subtle ink gradations create a deep spatial effect and an almost dreamlike atmosphere.

The wooden jikusaki frame the piece in a traditional, warm manner. It comes with a signed wooden box. This hand-painted unique work brings a calm, poetic landscape mood into any room and is especially suited for lovers of Japanese nature painting who value atmospheric depth and a meditative aura.
