Description
This atmospheric kakemono from the Meiji period shows a delicate depiction of grasses and flowers shimmering softly in the light of the moon. The sensitive use of tones and the subtle composition convey a calm, almost meditative atmosphere. The moonlit landscape, combined with the filigree grasses, captures the quiet beauty of nature at night and invites the viewer to enter into the harmony of the scene.
The work was painted on paper and bears the stamp of the artist Shodo. The jikusaki made of wood completes the traditional appearance of this kakemono and emphasizes the simplicity and elegance of the piece.
This work of art is an excellent example of the refinement and closeness to nature of Japanese painting in the Meiji period. It brings a gentle, peaceful atmosphere to any room and is ideally suited for collectors and lovers of Japanese art.
